A bespoke residential and commercial property developer in Hackney require an in-house Architect to join their busy office.

Founded over 16 years ago, the company was originally formed as an estate agency. Now running as a multi-disciplinary firm, made up of 25 staff members, they specialise in both residential and commercial developments; with the addition of some mixed-use and retail projects. Since then, the firm have grown into a large property investment company, who cater for their own capital, offering comprehensive services to both existing and new clients. The company now hold a team of staff who collectively have over 25 years of professional experience working in sales, lettings, management, financial development, design and property development. With a portfolio of small-medium scale residential and commercial developments across the UK, the average construction value is between £1-2million and most developments consist of an average of 20-30 units.

Role & Responsibilities

As part of a team of 25, the successful candidate will be working within a team of 6 in the Development division, on a range of exciting new residential projects. You will be reporting to the Development and Projects Director and will take on the following responsibilities:

  • Producing planning drawings at a fast and efficient pace
  • Project detailing (1-3 in parallel, dependent on the work load)
  • Redesign of external facades of existing buildings
  • Liaison with building control
  • Attending site visits when required
  • Liaising with engineers, M&E consultants and contractors

Required Skills & Experience

  • Part III qualified or equivalent
  • A minimum of 2 years UK professional working experience
  • Proven experience of working on multiple residential projects, ideally a minimum of 5-100 units
  • You must have a solid knowledge of UK building regulations
  • Experience liaising with building control, Engineers, M&E Consultants and Contractors
  • Strong dexterity in CAD programmes, ideally AutoCAD, but this is not an essential software
  • Able to work at a fast pace, whilst still working efficiently
  • Experience attending site visits
  • Must be highly organised
  • You will require a smartphone for this job
