Joshua Robert Recruitment is currently working with a national consulting group.  Having started their journey as a planning and development consultancy, the practice has consistently grown and now consists of Town Planning, Architecture/Master Planning and Urban Design through to Transport Design teams across the UK.

Due to continued expansion, there is now an exciting opportunity for an Associate Director to join the business as part of a newly formed Planning team (Private Sector).  You will be leading on projects and have overall responsibility for private sector business development and managing a portfolio of clients (existing and new).   As well as supporting Directors, you will be tasked with developing your own client base and nurturing those relationships.  In addition, you be managing the workload of junior staff members within the team.

As an Associate Director, your role will involve working on development plan/policy along with development management and appeal work.  Currently working for several national, regional and local house builders/ developers along with land owners, they are ideally looking for an individual with experience of business development and project management of large applications.

To be considered for this position, you will have a strong development management background (from either public or private sector).  Experience in preparing and presenting evidence to hearings, inquiries or examinations in public would also be an advantage.  It is important that you are motivated to deliver an excellent service with a natural ability to develop good working relationships with clients and key stakeholders.  Above all, you will thrive in an environment where you can make a real contribution to the prosperity of the company and of yourself.

In the initial stages of your career, this role will see you working as part of a small team of planning professionals, so excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work well as part of a smaller team is essential.  Membership of RTPI is highly sought after (although not essential, it will go a long way in supporting your application).

In return, you will work for a market leading organisation, offering lots of autonomy to add value, drive change and make a difference. There is a clear route for progression and lots of support and a strong brand name behind you for you to succeed.
