Senior Conservation Architect

Thomas Ford & Partners are looking for an experienced Conservation Architect to work on an increasing workload of interesting and high-quality projects. We are an RIBA Award-winning practice with an established reputation and a wide range of projects covering the conservation, heritage, and ecclesiastical sectors. We are currently working on projects at 5 cathedrals.

Applicants should have at least 10 years’ post-qualification experience, and already occupy a similar position at their current practice, with a proven track record in delivering projects to a high technical standard. AABC or RIBA accreditation is desirable. Experience of AutoCAD LT, Adobe Photoshop, and Sketchup is desirable.

The role will require you to liaise directly with clients, consultants and contractors on a daily basis, and you will need excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

You will be able to take responsibility for a project, including preparing drawings and specifications, working both independently and collaboratively as a senior member of a team. You will also have experience of working in a multi-disciplinary environment and of taking projects through UK legislative procedures, including those related to heritage sites and religious buildings.

We are particularly interested in meeting individuals who wish to progress an already established career in conservation and there are excellent career prospects for individuals with drive and ability. Salary negotiable.

Architectural Assistant

We also have an opening for a talented and motivated Architectural Assistant, interested in pursuing a career in conservation. Minimum RIBA Part 2, but good practical experience of working in a small or medium-sized practice will definitely be an advantage. Experience of AutoCAD LT, Adobe Photoshop, and Sketchup is desirable.

TF&P is a family-friendly and equal opportunities employer that values diversity in its workforce and in job applicants.
