Architect (Housing Developer)
A well established and highly successful housing developer with work that varies from large scale housing to bespoke one off homes is offering a highly desirable combination of a great salary and benefits with chance to also design and run your own projects.
The company was established over 25 years ago and with a focus on housing development projects varying in size from 1 to 90 homes. Due to retirement of a long-term member of staff they are looking to add another member to the small inhouse design team. The role would offer the combination of front end design and also project management.
Role & Responsibilities
Carry out out feasibilities on new site opportunities in consultation with the Land Buying Department. Taking responsibility for leading and managing projects from concept design stage, through development of design and all necessary stages or applications for statutory approvals, production information
Prepare Drawings suitable for a planning submission
Prepare production information suitable for Building Control Submission and Construction purposes to an agreed timescale Consult and manage other professionals Review and coordinate sub consultant / contractor information
Produce detailed working drawings and specifications; Resolve problems and issues that arise during construction; Discharging Planning / Building Control / NHBC / S106 Conditions Liaising with and taking instructions and guidance from Senior Staff in programming workload and managing projects; Ability to manage and appraise own working practices. Attended site and project meeting when required.
Required Skills & Experience
Experience working in UK based residential projects is essential.
Confident in the production of feasibilities studies and the planning process. Experience using Archi-CAD would be advantageous but full training will be given Due the need to visit site you would need a current drivers licence and your own personal transport A sound understanding of construction techniques and processes relevant to the production of information Knowledge of technical standards, regulatory frameworks and health & safety Good written and verbal communication skills Ability to manage and appraise own working practices.
Salary & Package
The role offers a salary of up to £50,000 depending on experience Annual profit/Performance related bonus.
