Part 3 Architect or Part 1 / 2 Architectural assistant required at Llewellyn Harker Lowe
We are looking for an architect or assistant who draws well and who wants to work on a fine bunch of interesting projects with proper builders. You will need to know, or be willing to learn, about conservation and traditional buildings, but also be alive to the possibilities of contemporary solutions. .
We are established RIBA chartered architects based in Somerset and Bath working throughout the South West and further afield. We work in a relaxed but hardworking group architects in an informal office of about 10 staff in rural mid Somerset. Many of our employees commute from Bath and Bristol. We carry out an array of job types on a variety of scales, from £50k extensions to £5 million+ country estates, both contemporary and traditional. Our most common works sectors include; Private Housing / Country Estates, Conservation & Conversion of Historic Buildings, Tourism & Venues. Also, some; Retail, Offices, Landscape.
Our architecture is; crafted, considered, informed, sensitive, rational, pragmatic, bespoke – client and site specific. Many of our architect draw by hand. We place value in understanding traditional crafts and skills without necessarily feeling a need to replicate the past.
Any new employee joining us will be working on projects across a variety of scales and through multiple work stages. Our open-plan office provides an excellent opportunity to learn from others, accumulate skills, grow professionally, and directly experience architecture in practice.
