Have you had professional experience working on rail, commercial and educational projects? My client is currently working with ‘Transport for London’ (TFL) and are looking for someone who will enjoy jumping into a rail project with them.

My client is looking to welcome an experienced Part II Architectural Assistant, or a qualified Architect to join their RIBA chartered practice, where you will work from their quaint boat house office on the bankside of the Thames.

Established over 40 years ago, the practice consist of 12 passionate and dedicated of architects, designers and technology professionals, who are committed to delivering elegant and considered designs. From innovative station work across the UK, to state-of the art higher-education facilities, they apply rigour and attention to detail, to the design and management of all their projects. Their innovative and collaborative approach is also supported by their cutting-edge application of new technologies in BIM.

Their desire to create inspiring environments extends into the office management and structure of the practice. Role & Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be brought in to work on a live, London rail project, working alongside other Architects and will be reporting to the two company Directors. You’ll be joining a small team that are currently managing this project and will be running this all the way through to completion. You may also be offered the opportunity to support TFL by working at the TFL offices in the development of the major upgrade programme for London the underground.

Required Skills & Experience

  • A minimum of 2 years UK professional working experience
  • A minimum of 3 years post Part II qualification experience
  • Experience working on UK rail projects is highly beneficial
  • Have a strong design ability
  • Good organisational skills
  • Be able to demonstrate a high level of technical detailing skills
  • Job running experience is highly desirable
  • Experience working with 3D Vectorworks and Microstation is preferable
  • Good working knowledge of Photoshop, InDesign and MS Office
  • Thorough working knowledge of UK building regulations
  • Ability to work within a small team, where good communication and co-ordination is key
  • Fluent in both written and spoken English
  • An understanding of design issues on large scale projects
  • Have a flexible and committed attitude to work
  • The ability to be able to work using your own initiative

Salary & Package

£30,000 – £40,000 Dependent on experience. In addition to this a statutory pension and cycle to work scheme is available.

The office is a 1920’s built boat house and serves as a fantastic meeting venue for their clients and creates a relaxed environment for its staff.
