A small and busy architectural company in Torquay, Devon is seeking a qualified and talented architectural technician/technologist with a minimum of 3 years of UK based experience to work on mainly residential projects across the south of England.

Due to a number of new commissions we are offering an excellent opportunity to work on some very interesting and varied projects. Our projects involve bespoke, residential, conservation, traditional refurbishments and as well as modern architecture.

You must be self-motivated, technically strong, have a great eye for detail be able to create high quality results. The ideal candidate will preferably have over 3 years of experience and will be a confident all-rounder with the ability to work as an individual or as part of a design team, from inception to completion.

Previous experience working on both existing buildings as well as new-build projects, is required along with demonstrating a flair for design and a strong understanding of the technical process. A thorough and up-to-date working knowledge of Building Regulations is essential. An understanding and experience of the Planning process would also be a benefit.

You should have a thorough grounding in 2D AutoCAD. Knowledge and experience with Revit would be a good advantage. Ideally you will have experience with NBS Scheduling software, Photoshop and SketchUp. You also need to be fully conversant with Microsoft Office applications. The dying art of freehand sketching would also be an advantage.

Duties will involve conceptualising, design development, producing drawings and documents for Planning Applications, Building Regulations detailing, preparing schedules and construction drawings and general project administration and co-ordination. You should also be experienced in client liaison and developing relationships with fellow professionals.
