Capital Projects, within the Estates and Facilities Directorate, are responsible for the Master Planning and Development of all campuses forming the Queen Mary University of London estate. The team manage a large capital programme from inception to completion, delivering projects on budget, on programme and to a high standard of quality. The improvement in facilities supports academic research and enhances the student experience.
Reporting to the Project Leader, Estates and Facilities (Capital Projects) the Architectural Assistant will be responsible for providing technical support within the Projects Office on a wide range of projects through the production of CAD drawings, graphics, technical detailing and surveys. Assist Project Managers with the preparation and management of Projects, from inception to completion.
The successful candidate will have a degree or equivalent diploma in Architecture, Design or Building Construction. You will have post qualification design experience, a good appreciation of financial control and procedures, good negotiating skills and the ability to develop and foster excellent working relationships.
The post is a full time permanent post. The salary range for this post is £26,270 - £32,405 per annum plus a benefits package which includes 30 days annual leave, a defined benefit pension scheme and also an interest-free season ticket loan after a qualifying period.
Candidates must be able to demonstrate their eligibility to work in the UK in accordance with the Immigration, Asylum and Nationality Act 2006. Where required this may include entry clearance or continued leave to remain under the Points Based Immigration Scheme.
