We are seeking a qualified Architect with at least three years’ post qualification experience who is confident in dealing with clients and contractors.
Excellent design skills, related to an interest in both historic buildings and new design, are essential. Accreditation with the RIBA as a Conservation Architect or with the AABC is an advantage.
Being open minded and willing to discuss options is seen as critical. This should be combined with an ability to take initiative.
CAD ability is important. The practice uses Vectorworks for drawing but an ability to sketch is also desirable.
Technical knowledge of historic and contemporary construction and Building Regulations is important.
The post is to work as an architect involved in projects through all work stages from inception to design, planning, production of information and delivery on site. The projects vary in size and complexity and engage with a variety of building materials. You will need to be able to drive and will have to use your own car.
The post would suit someone with ambition and drive who wants to explore and develop their skills and interests. It is not a back room post but one at the front of a thriving practice specialising in historic buildings.
