Job (Function)
Architect, Project Architect
Contract Type
An incredible opportunity has arisen in this small and friendly practice in a lovely location just outside Birmingham. One of the practice's Project Architects decided to relocate after working with them for 5 good years and they are now looking to employ an ambitious and proactive recently qualified Architect to take on the role.

They are ready to provide the young Architect with the support they need to play a key role in the practice and quickly progress to a Project Architect level. They will show a great deal of flexibility for the right candidate in terms of the offered salary and benefits. Their office hours are 09:00 to 17:30 with an hour's break but can offer flexible working hours to candidates with specific family needs. The annual leave is also highly negotiable.

  • Qualified in the UK
  • Architecture studies in the UK
  • 2 to 4 years of practice experience in the UK overall (Part1 to Part3)
  • Strong residential experience
  • Some project running experience would be ideal
  • Good detailing skills
  • The candidate will be expected to work from the early stages of projects all the way to completion so a well-balanced experience across all RIBA work stages would be appropriate
  • The practice is at an easily commutable distance from Birmingham city centre. As candidates are expected to attend regular site meeting however, car owners will be preferred. (£45p/mile travel compensation for company related visits)

CAD requirements:
  • They use ArchiCAD but are more than happy to train the new member from scratch!
  • A good understanding of BIM concepts and workflows would be a big bonus

All members of the team enjoy an unprecedented level of autonomy in their work while at the same time being involved in all aspects of running the practice. This is a fantastic opportunity for a recently qualified Architect to kick-start their career within a flexible, supportive and close-knit environment with a family-run ethos.
