An opportunity to work on a range of projects, from castles to casinos. Join a small firm with a long established reputation for their complex work in the hospitality and leisure sector, offering the opportunity for regular continued professional development and a pathway to Associate level within a friendly and professional environment. You will be responsible for a team of Junior Architects and report to the Director of the company, running projects often in areas of sensitivity and on buildings of historic interest.

Due to a recent increase in workload, the company are seeking an Architect to join their small team and share a number of responsibilities with the Associate.

They have a long standing reputation for their work in the historic and conservation sectors. Demonstrating a mixture of contemporary and traditional design, completed projects include the design and construction of a 155 bedroom 5* hotel, spa and conference rooms in Grade I listed grounds, a new 8- bedroom extension of an existing 5* hotel, the conversion of a famous grade II listed building in Covent Garden and the restoration and change of use of a Grade II listed building neighbouring an infamous hotel in central London. Typically, their projects value between £5 - £50million.

Role & Responsibilities

The successful candidate will report to the Director, and will be responsible for running teams of junior Architects on a variety of projects; including a hotel refurbishment in central London and a casino project, also in central London. Fitting in with the company's systems and processes, you will be required to lead projects from concept to delivery, coordinating both internal and external teams.

Required Skills & Experience

  • RIBA Part III qualified (or equivalent)
  • A minimum of 7 years' experience on UK projects post Part II, including Listed or Historic Buildings
  • Previous job running experience, leading projects through all RIBA stages
  • Possess a portfolio that demonstrates both design flare and technical ability
  • Able to demonstrate a high degree of competency
  • Fluent in the use of Vectorworks

Salary & Package

The successful applicant will be offered a salary of up to £45,000, depending on experience, plus the following benefits:
