GPA is multidisciplinary design led practice, a RIBA Chartered Practice and also RTPI Chartered Town Planners established in 2009. Our dual focus means we can use our planning knowledge in conjunction with ingenious architectural design to find creative solutions for our growing number of clients. Our team works on a broad range of exiting projects across the residential and commercial sector. We have achieved 1000+ planning approvals to date.

Our work typically although not exclusively covers RIBA work stages 0 to 4 and focuses on everything from residential extensions, multi-unit residential developer projects to commercial work, in London and surrounding areas. We are based in offices in Sutton, located next to Sutton Rail station 20 minutes from central London but we also will consider remote working and flexible/part time working for the right candidates.

We now need to expand our enthusiastic and talented team. We are looking for two architectural professionals. Architects/Architectural Technicians/Senior Architectural Assistants. We are looking for a range of skills, knowledge and abilities and although it is possible that one person possesses all the skills we need it is more likely that these attributes will be spread across more than one person in which case we will look for individuals with complimentary strengths.

What we need most importantly is the right attitude, people who are ready to learn and develop further, who enjoy challenges, multi tasking and are prepared to be accountable and work well with others, supporting the less experienced and being able to take feedback from the more experienced.

We expect one of the roles to be for someone who has strong leadership skills (or potential leadership skills) who is looking for more of a project management/resource management/people/practice management role who is good at organisation and administration and motivating and developing others, has excellent communication skills and a background in residential architectural work. The other role would be perfect for someone  experienced and talented in design and technical work who can also lead a project team and develop more junior staff through coaching and checking their work.

Both individuals need to be keen to learn and develop their careers further and enjoy working collaboratively with others to achieve deadlines and project objectives.

We want people with the following skills:
Team Working - considerate of others, thriving on working collaboratively
Self motivated
Wanting to learn and develop
Ability to communicate in fluent verbal and written English essential
Comfortable taking responsibility and working independently
Strong creative design ability from concept to detail
Excellent communication and organisational skills
Sound Knowledge and experience of UK building regulations and planning legislation
Proficient in AutoCAD
Client facing with an ability to also liaise effectively with contractors and consultants on a daily basis
Ability to multitask

We appreciate that we are asking for a lot and so we are prepared to offer training in areas that expertise is not yet proven for the right people with the right attitude and potential, people who are enthusiastic, friendly, hardworking and passionate about helping us grow the practice further.

We are an inclusive employer and we are also able to offer flexible/part-time/remote working for the right candidates.

Please send a covering letter explaining which post you are interested in and why you think you would be a good fit for our practice, giving your current salary and salary expectations. Please also enclose your CV and portfolio. Interviews will be held as soon as possible for successful applicants.
