Since 2008 we’ve enjoyed incredible success to become the UK’s leading gym chain. Already operating more than 230 gyms across the country, that number will grow rapidly over the next few years. All of our teams and our amazing people will play a vital role in that growth, none more so than our Property Development team. With a significant portion of our future growth expected to come through opening new locations, all eyes will be on the team to deliver!

And to ensure that delivery, we need to grow the team quickly.

In particular at the moment, we are looking to recruit a Design Manager, based in London.

Working in a new, regional scrum alongside a Development Manager, a Quantity Surveyor and an Architect, the Design Manager will be fully accountable for the end-to-end internal and external design of all the gym development projects in the team’s region. The projects will be a mixture of new developments and refurbishments.

From the moment one of our members can see the gym, to when they enter the building, through to when they leave the building after their workout, you’ll be responsible for their entire experience from a design point of view. This will include control over signage, finish, equipment layout, mirrors and lighting. Along with the rest of your scrum, you’ll have input into the initial feasibility of the projects in the region, you’ll provide appropriate decisions at key stages in the project, and you’ll have a significant contribution into the continuous development of our gym formats as a whole.

On offer is an opportunity to be part of a new regional team where genuine, major growth is on the table. The role will provide plenty of opportunities to shape how the new development structure delivers, and will allow for plenty of input in to the future look, feel and member experience of PureGym. Not to mention working on some brilliant development projects.

If you are a Designer with experience of delivering a high standard of interior and exterior design consistently, across multiple projects simultaneously, and can demonstrate a passion for our industry, then we’ll more than likely be interested in having a conversation with you. Ideally your background will include working in or with customer facing industries such as leisure, retail, hospitality or retail banking.

In order to apply, please send your CV to tony.simmonds@puregym.com
