Senior Technical Architect
SENIOR TECHNICAL ARCHITECT
JTP is an award winning, international placemaking practice of architects and masterplanners.
From our studios in London and Edinburgh we undertake placemaking projects at every scale, from cities and towns, to neighbourhoods, streets and the design of individual buildings.
Our London studio is recruiting for an experienced Senior Architect / Associate to provide technical lead on the implementation of large scale residential and mixed-use projects. This newly created role would suit an ambitious architect looking for an opportunity to progress their career as lead designer working on complex, technical projects for forward-thinking clients.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the design and project management of post planning projects; overseeing the project team based both in the London and Edinburgh studios; co-ordinating and managing inputs from external consultants; preparing design programmes; monitoring the commercial performance of projects and sharing technical knowledge throughout the studio.
A key part of the role is client management and technical lead at client meetings. Effective and confident presentation and communication skills are therefore essential.
Whilst the role is London based, it requires significant communication and co-ordination with the design and technical team based in our Edinburgh studio.
The ideal candidate will be a qualified architect with a proven record of delivering successful projects ranging in size and complexity. Experience of delivering high rise and high-density residential schemes at post planning stages is required. Experience of working in Revit is highly desirable.
JTP is passionate about placemaking and people. We place great importance on making our studios collaborative, stimulating and enjoyable places to work.
At the start of 2019, and marking 25 years in practice, JTP relocated its London studio and 100 employees to our new home in a 200 year old, Grade 2 listed warehouse at Pennington Street, London Dock, Wapping.
Our new studio has been designed to respond to the way we work – creative, collaborative, and project based. Shaped around our collaborative working methodologies it provides greater flexibility, improved communication and knowledge sharing whilst promoting healthy lifestyles and social interaction.
Our unique and collaborative approach has received high praise; recognised with over 200 design and people-related awards including Sunday Times 100 Best Small Company to Work For 2018.
As well as being a great place to work JTP offers fantastic employee benefits including 25 days holiday (plus 3 additional days at Christmas & 8 Bank holidays), 5% contributory pension, private medical, permanent health and death in service insurance, performance related bonus and more.
