We are looking for a committed and enthusiastic architect who is looking to make their mark. Planning and Design Practice are an architectural and town planning practice based in Derby. As a company, we provide specialist heritage and conservation services in addition to more traditional architectural and town planning services.
Working alongside our lead architect, you will be responsible for a wide range of small to medium sized residential and commercial building projects, from conception to completion. The post holder will also delegate work and provide support to architectural assistants and technologists within the company. You will work directly with clients and the post offers the opportunity to deliver high quality buildings in both urban and rural settings.
The majority of the company’s clients are within an hour of Derby; much of the work is in rural Derbyshire including the Peak District National Park and the Derbyshire Dales. We undertake projects in the Derwent Valley World Heritage Site and works to listed buildings.
The company combines both town planning and architecture. The post holder will be working with qualified town planners who will assist in the submission of planning applications and the work associated with the planning process.
Required skills & experience:
- Experience working on bespoke residential projects;
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, Sketchup and Photoshop;
- Good knowledge of UK building regulations;
- Articulate and able to communicate to clients and colleagues on all levels;
- Good level of spoken and written English;
- Excellent organisational skills;
- A minimum of 2 years UK experience.
