This is an opportunity to join an established and respected Principal contractor with an enviable client base. With an energetic and driven team, they undertake a wide range of projects across a variety of sectors including Leisure & Hospitality, Education and Commercial Office fit-out. Their projects include heritage and historic sites and national monuments as well as a variety of modern commercial buildings.

Due to their continued and sustained growth, they are looking for an ambitious Architect to lead and grow their pre-construction services team.

This role will include working with the Managing Director to plan growth and development of the team, and then taking the lead in implementation and delivery. Projects will include taking Client briefs and going on to undertake initial design, planning submittals and feasibility studies and - where successful - go on to undertake full design across the full range of projects undertaken by the business. Role & Responsibilities

- Supporting the Director with the growth of the practice, being involved in key business decisions, including recruitment
- Being the main point of contact for all Client and other queries relating to projects being managed. Taking Client briefs, and preparing feasibility studies and scheme designs from initial concept to planning drawings and going on to full design
- Managing and supervising a team and prioritising workloads to meet deadlines, being responsible for the design output and day to day management of the team.
- Work with the high level management team to develop and improve existing systems and process to generate best value for the business
- Be a pro-active member of the management team, ensuring Company standards and expectations are maintained and promoted.

Required Skills & Experience

- Part III qualified with 4 years+ UK experience post qualification. Detailing experience on commercial & industrial refurbishment projects is essential.
- A solid commercial understanding of the construction process, and the ability to design schemes that offer good value along with a very high standard of materials and finish.
- A solid understanding of technical and statutory requirements, including Building Regulations and British Standards
- Excellent managerial and organisational skills, good leadership skills, and a team player with a positive outlook and good time management skills
- Experience of writing NBS specifications and Scope of Works documentation
- The ability to understand a Client's brief and develop this
into a scheme that meets their needs, whilst managing their expectations to ensure that project costs are kept realistic
- High proficiency in Revit & AutoCAD. Also a good working knowledge of the Microsoft and Adobe suites.
- Skilled in Project Management would be beneficial but not essential
