We are currently looking to recruit a talented Part II Architectural Assistant to join our dynamic team in London, Clerkenwell.

The role is available on a 6 months fixed term employment basis to work as part of our education team on an exciting design-led further education masterplan. The project recently received planning approval and eight buildings are now being progressed as part of a three-phase programme. We are looking for a Part II Architectural Assistant to take these projects forward from Stage 3 through to site. 

EXPECTED TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepare develop and edit, under the guidance of the project leader or nominated architect, drawings, images and other project documents.
  • Produce physical models for client meetings and planning consultations.
  • Develop, where required, representations of design options for further discussion and development by the design team.
  • Assist with client liaison and attend design team meetings with other professionals.
  • Preparation of 3D visuals, by hand and/or using relevant software, for use in planning and design documents.
  • A knowledge and interest in building materials, and ability to proactively source materials and samples.
  • Carry out sensitive site analysis, demonstrating an understanding of place, and communicate this effectively in design drawings and diagrams.
  • Develop a detailed knowledge and understanding of DLA Design’s procedures and standards including use of the DLA Business Management System.

THE CANDIDATE

Qualifications

Essential: RIBA Part I & II qualification as a minimum. e.g. BA (Hons) Architecture and Diploma in Architecture or equivalent.

Desirable: If recently qualified, RIBA Part III certification or equivalent

Experience

Essential: 2-3 years in a UK architectural practice.

Software

Desirable: Revit, InDesign / Photoshop, Sketchup
