Built Environment Action Register: Call for Volunteers
Article 25 is an NGO team of construction professionals designing built solutions in post-disaster and post-war locations throughout the world. Projects include: - Conservation based project in the Gola Forest, Eastern Sierra Leone. - Prototype Child Friendly School in Sierra Leone. - Centre for street children in Maputo, Mozambique. - Child soldier retraining centre in Uganda.
ARCHITECTS - Excellent opportunity for architects to join our London design team working on our exciting projects throughout Africa. - Exciting brief working within strong environmental, social and design agendas. - Developing sustainable structures using local materials, knowledge of vernacular design and climate responsive design. - Particularly exciting and challenging cultural environments. - Engagement with the challenges of the local environment and culture.
REQUIREMENTS - Significant experience in Job Running, leading a small design team. - Strong Design Skills. - Qualified Architects with 3+ years work experience. - Excellent communication and personal skills.
Information - Start date: November / December 2009. - Duration: 3 months, 6 month, 12 month durations available, with possible extension. - Terms: These are voluntary, full time positions in the London office.
